How to choose the best Three phone deal
To get the best deal, work out how much data you need. Most people use between 8GB and 20GB a month, which covers emails, WhatsApp, scrolling and a bit of streaming. Not sure what you use? Your current network’s app shows a monthly breakdown. If you stream or game on the move, go higher. If you’re mostly on Wi-Fi, you can pay less.
Then compare:
- Upfront cost: a bigger payment now can lower your monthly bill.

Can I use my phone abroad on Three?
You can use your phone abroad on Three, and on some plans it won’t cost you extra. Three’s Go Roam service covers over 160 destinations worldwide, so you can use your usual calls, texts and up to 12GB of data while you’re away.
Where does Go Roam work?
Destinations are split into three tiers:
- Europe covers favourites like Spain, France and Italy.
- Around the World takes in the USA, Australia and Singapore.
- Extra goes further still, to places like Japan, India and South Africa.
What will it cost me?
It depends on your plan. If your pay monthly plan started on or after 22 June 2025:
- Complete includes all three tiers at no extra cost.
- Value includes Europe at no extra cost.
- Lite needs a Go Roam Pass, or a daily charge applies.
Where your plan doesn’t cover a tier, a daily charge unlocks your UK allowance for 24 hours. If you joined or upgraded after 18 December 2025, it’s £2.75 in Europe and £8 in the other two tiers.
Heading somewhere outside Go Roam? Your UK allowance won’t work there and standard roaming rates apply, so check before you fly.

Three+ rewards app
The Three+ rewards app, available exclusively to Three UK customers, offers deals and discounts on food, entertainment, shopping, and more.
Perks include weekly offers such as £1 Caffè Nero coffee, £3 cinema tickets at Cineworld and Picturehouse, and savings on food delivery with Uber Eats. Three+ also gives users early access to presale tickets for music festivals and events, along with exclusive experiences and competitions.
Is Three a good network?
In a word, yes. If you want fast 5G, plenty of data and perks, Three is a good network to go with. They had the UK’s fastest 5G download speeds and the highest connection time in Opensignal’s January 2026 report, and Three+ is a real bonus.

What to expect from a Three phone contract
When you take out a phone contract with Three, choose your handset first. There’s a solid range to pick from, including the latest smartphones, and you can opt for either a pay-monthly deal or pay-as-you-go, where you buy the phone outright.
You’ll choose a data allowance that suits your needs on a pay-monthly contract. Plans start at 1GB per month and range up to unlimited data. All Three phone plans include unlimited calls and texts, and 5G comes as standard at no extra cost.
Contract lengths range from 24 to 36 months, with fixed upfront and monthly costs that can be adjusted slightly to find a setup that suits your budget. While it isn't as flexible as networks like O2 and Three, they keep things simple – and often affordable.
