iPhone 18 Pro Max camera
The iPhone 18 Pro Max has a familiar 3-camera setup, but this time features Apple’s new 48MP Fusion main camera with variable aperture. The aperture can open wider in darker environments to let in about 50% more light, or be narrowed for better depth of field in shots like group photos.
There are also new Pro Controls for manual camera settings, including white balance, histogram, aperture and shutter speed. For video, there are cinematic-style effects applied to regular video after capture, 4K Dolby Vision time-lapse, and updated AudioMix features.
Performance and battery
The iPhone 18 Pro Max runs on the new A20 Pro chip, built using 2-nanometre technology. Apple says it has a faster CPU, more powerful 7-core GPU and dual Neural Engine for better on-device AI performance.

Siri AI will launch in English beta first, with French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish support expected in October. Some features may have usage limits because they rely on server-based models.
